So Sister and I are driving down the road and she says, "Is that supposed to be a storm cellar?" I, paying no attention, had no idea what she was talking about until she pointed it out. At that point, I CRACKED UP and had to stop in the middle of the road (because you can do that in Lynn) and had to take a picture. You've got to admit, somebody had a bright idea... then again, maybe they just drive like me and Grandma. :)

HoCkEy GaMe!!!
Our first ever hockey game!! Tonight (this post is going to count as my Saturday post even though it's techincally 46 minutes into Sunday) we went to see the Huntsville Havoc take on the Fayetteville Icegators. Hockey is my new favorite sport of choice. It was SO MUCH FUN! We are definitely planning a return trip. The first pic is me and Mal, my best friend since I was about 5 or 6. In the group shot are Paige and Buddy (another of our fabulous classmates who's also been one of my best friends for my entire life). I hooked up the two of them and they've been together for 6 years now. I think in some religion that's a sign of good luck. Now I'm ending the night/morning with a chat with one of my favorite cousins, Brian. Good Day and Good Night!

The State of the Union
I have never claimed to be political - however - I do claim to be very patriotic. So, I don't care if you are black, white, green, brown, blue or orange, as long as you love America, I'm all for you. Be quiet when the National Anthem is being played, take off your hat, and put your hand over your heart. It's only polite. I saw my 3rd grade teacher not long ago and had to thank her because SHE is the reason that I love America. Every morning she would make us say the pledge (it was a high honor to hold the flag) and then we would sing My Country Tis of Thee. Now granted, we also sang Zip a Dee Doo Dah, but that has stuck with me ever since and I promised her if I ever became a teacher, I would teach my kids those patriotic songs. I tell everyone Mrs. Tidwell is the reason that I still drive to Lynn, AL on election day to cast my vote. She is why I insist on watching every Innauguration and State of the Union (even though half the time I haven't a clue what they are talking about). I am even slightly fascinated by CSPAN when Congress is in session - you know, on those brief moments there are more than 3 guys in the room. Drives my sister insane. I just think it's important. My absolute favorite professor in college once told us "If you don't vote, you don't have the right to complain." Most countries aren't nearly as blessed as we are, so we should enjoy our freedoms and take interest - no matter what side you are on.

Swampers
Home away from home... sort of. This is Swampers Lounge conviently located just inside the Marriott Shoals Hotel and Spa and also the only pic I took today. We are about to start a major renovation at the hotel and I'm working on before and after pics. This would be the Before. The After will come in about 4 months. It was a pretty good shot though except for all the light coming through the windows. The firelace is fabulous and I always say you can tell from any picture if a hotel is a Marriott by the tacky carpet on the floor. :0)

Sweet George
BAck in the land of the living.. sort of. I was great until today - just for future reference, NEVER get behind on the pain pills. Doesn't matter if you are sitting in church, it's still incredibly painful. However, my picture of the day is one of my favorites yet. This is my get well gift from my cousin, George. If you know George, you'll get why this is so sweet! He is precious and wrote it all by himself!!!

The Croc
Guess what I had for supper tonight?! My absolute favorite - Fried Green Tomato Sandwich with fries from the fabulous establishment, Crocodile Ed's, run by 2 of my favorite people in the world, Josh and Lucas! You all must come to Florence sometime so that I can take you. I figured since this will be my last meal for a while, I would need to make it a good one - and I did! Absolutely delightful.

A Great Surprise... Sorta!
If you know me at all, you'll get why this picture is incredibly funny! Today as I was chatting on the phone ordering some batteries for our phones at work, our LP officer brought in a package for me. Now, I was expecting toner for our computer, so I was somewhat surprised when I openend the bag and there was a shirt inside. Even more surprising, when I pulled out the shirt, it was ALABAMA FOOTBALL! I instantly knew who it was from. Now I'm a Georgia Football Fan (Mark Richt) and a Florida Gator Fan (Tim Tebow), but in all reality I couldn't care less about any of it. When I have to pick sides though, my favorite team is whoever is playing Alabama for the week. My entire Tittle family is for the Crimson Tide with the exception of my Aunt Jo's family who are all for AU. Yes, I am a rebel without a cause. I have no reason to not like the Tide except for the fact that EVERYBODY else does. So this, is quite funny. I threatened to only put the second pic up today. The tag on the bag read, "Satisfaction Guaranteed". I asked Sister if they'd like a second opinion on that. However, I am thankful because it is a rather comfy shirt and I have promised my dear Aunt Ila Vee that I will wear it Friday when I go get the wisdom teeth taken out. At that point I will be on drugs so I'm sure I'll never even remember wearing it! HA!

Girl's Night (Plus Studley)
I LOVE Monday nights! Here we are for yet another FABULOUS Girl's Night and this time, we let a boy in. Our own Studley Joe Saling, aka Director of Area Marketing, joined us for Pizza, the Hangover, and girl talk... well he left before the girl talk, but was entertaining all the same. I know I said it last week, but THIS Girl's Night was the best!
In this pic we have Me (the big marshmallow puff on the left), Studley, Keely, Leah, Katie and Pris.

I LOVE Fruit Loops. Possibly one of the greatest cereals of all time, second only to Crispy Critters which are completely old school and haven't been in production since I was very young but I still remember them as being my all time favorite. Obviously this wasn't an extremely exciting day as the highlight was going to Big Lots and buying some Fruit Loops, but they are quite delightful and now Jay Leno is coming on. Got to catch up on all the daily news...

Honeybelles!!
IT's that fabulous time of year.... time for the honeybelle oranges! I've been told I didn't like them when I was little, but I can't remember a time when I didn't LOVE these things! For those of you that don't know, my Aunt Ila Vee and Uncle Bert used to always send us a box when they lived in West Palm Beach, Florida and even since they have moved to AL they still send us a box every January! These are without a doubt the best oranges you will ever eat in your life! They are HUGE beyond huge, very juicy and extremely sweet and have been my breakfast this week! Chef and I shared one yesterday and Miranda and I shared one this morning. Everyone at the Marriott is in agreement that these are better than any store bought orange anywhere! THANKS TO AUNT ILA VEE AND UNCLE BERT!

My new threads!
Friends and Family, I can't EVEN begin to tell you how happy this picture has made me. As a few of you are aware, there was this certain quarterback during my stint at UNA who was, let's just say it, on the level of Peyton Manning in his football ability and 10,000 times better looking. He was also just as sweet as a certain guy named Tim Tebow. Well, GUESS WHAT I ACQUIRED THIS WEEK?! No, unfortunately it was not my beloved AJ Milwee, but it was his old jersey. Too long of a story to go into, but I have ended up with the treasured #4 jersey. (And no, I didn't steal it. Everything was legal... sort of.) One day, it will be worth millions, but the memories of my dear AJ... priceless! :0)

My Fav 4 (Minus One Nancy Byrd)
GiRl'S nIgHt!!! Yes, our latest installment of Monday night entertainment. I think this has been the best yet. Very entertaining with stories from Prissy and Nancy Byrd. For those of you unfamiliar with my fabuolous work friends, Leah is on the left, Pris is in the middle, and our fantastic IT Manager Katie is on the far right. Here, they are practicing the chin up pose as to not show a double chin. I had to take the pic about 3 times because I was laughing so hard that I kept shaking the camera. I guess you had to be there. Nancy Byrd opted out the this photo and was sitting beside me. And for added fun, the gentleman sitting directly behind Leah nearly sat down at our table by mistake. Again, you had to be there. It was the funniest thing!

The cold gets colder...
Holy Cow it is COLD in Alabama! When Grandma saw snow birds a few weeks ago, she said it'd be a cold winter and she was right! I spent the night with her last night and felt like royalty. She had the bed fixed up with a sheet, 2 homemade quilts, a comforter and a heating blanket (and of course, one of her 2x gowns that no matter how many times I take pjs, I still must sleep in her gown). She even had the covers pulled back and 6 scrambled eggs and toast. We got up at the crack of dawn and had more scrambled eggs, homemade biscuts, and gravy. Then we went "and made a grocery bill" and came back for pizza. Yes, I have gained 6 lbs in less than 24 hours. The pics are of Marshall's Fish Pond just below Grandma's house. It is completely iced over!!!

SNOWMAN
Some of us have to work for a living so I missed getting to go out and spend the morning playing in the snow in the trailer park. :( Yeah, so sad. Anyway, our Room Service Server Drew showed up in the office this morning with his snowman on a silver platter. His eyes and buttons are made of raisins and his arms and nose are made of carrots. Very healthy. It actually snowed a pretty good bit today, but only stuck a little. Now it's just COLD.

My Hommies!
Yep.. still too cold to go outside and get my camera. SO in an effort to channel the warm weather back to Alabama and get rid of all this coldness we seem to have going on.... here is one of my favorite pics of the summer! We got the bright idea to go canoeing for the first time and it was a BLAST! It was quite an experience considering that there were no canoes when we got there and we ended up agreeing to go in 2 broken boats that had been fixed with duct tape, at a discount. Yes, we went canoeing on clearance. The rat pack here includes Jake, Jenn, Mal, me and Buddy. Fun times!!!

Yummy!
Some of you may have more spiritual insight than me, but I am fairly confident that God gives us treats such as S'MORES to prove that he loves us and wants us to be happy. Sister made a fabulous supper tonight and in return, I found a pack of Hershey bars that I received for my birthday and made us s'mores. They were quite delightful!

My NEW Shirt
I went in search of a Hook 'Em Horns shirt this weekend to get in the spirit of the upcoming football game. I didn't find one, but I did run upon this lovely shirt that I just HAD to have. I think that there is something so poetic about a vegetarian wearing a Spam shirt. And I believe it is by far one of the softest shirts I've ever had in my life. I LOVE IT!

Go Grandma - It's your Birthday!
I told you that we party hard in the Tittle family on birthdays! Here we are celebrating Grandma's birthday for the second time. Even though I told them to smile, I still got a few surprised looks. It was fun. After breakfast, we went shopping and found Grandma a new dress. I was only supposed to be the designated driver, but ended up buying myself a couple of shirts and a new skirt. Good sales today!

Happy Birthday to GRANDMA!!!
Happy Birthday to GRANDMA! The coolest lady I know turned 85 years young today! We're having the official family party tomorrow, but I decided to have my own party for her today. Just FYI - I set the family portrait photo up on a timer and Grandma just happen to blow out her candle right on time! How cute is she?!
